Capacity Building in Sustainability for Architectural Heritage

Project key objective: Updating and improvement of the quality of curricula in the sphere of Sustainability for Architectural Heritage (Historic BIM and Urban Historic Landscapes) in RF, Armenia and Iran to meet the needs of sustainable development of a global market.

Project specific objectives:

  • Development and testing of new interdisciplinary training models for Bachelor and Master degree level curricula of architectural practical-oriented education for Architectural Heritage in line with best EU practices to increase awareness and responsiveness to environmental and economic changes. All courses/modules/programmes will cover the items outlined in the ICOMOS Guidelines for Education and training in the conservation of Monuments, Ensembles and Sites (1993).
  • Creation of an interactive platform for education, science, practitioners and authorities in order to form modern professional competences of specialists, responding to the needs of a sustainable society in the sphere of Architectural Heritage.

Project outputs:

  • Modernization, expansion of accessibility and development of the internationalisation of higher education and promoting voluntary rapprochement with higher education development trends in EU countries: Better understanding of QAS, students - centered approach, project management and team approach in EU universities education system;
  • Creation of a platform for the development and strengthening of cooperation: The Network of Multidisciplinary Centres for «Sustainability for Architectural Heritage»
  • Promoting intercultural and interpersonal exchange: The BSc and MSc programmes to be developed will bring together students from different fields to study in international interdisciplinary teams that increases understanding of different backgrounds and offers students opportunities to collaborate with research projects, companies, organisations and students from other disciplines, universities and cultures.
