Foreigners received certificates of pre-university education at Samara Polytech
The ninth graduation ceremony of the Center for the Training of Foreign Citizens took place.
On July 9, foreign citizens received certificates of completion of the supplementary general education program, which prepares them for professional educational programs in Russian. During the nine months of study, the students mastered not only Russian, but also mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry, and biology. They will now be eligible to enroll at Samara Polytech or another Russian university.
At the certificate presentation ceremony, the students were congratulated on behalf of the university's leadership by First Vice-Rector and Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Human Resource Development, Evgeny Frank .
"More and more foreigners wishing to study in Russia are choosing our university," he noted. "Currently, students from more than 60 countries near and far are studying at Samara Polytech . And we see that the educational and scientific potential of our international students is growing every year. It's a great pleasure when we travel to other countries to see Polytechnic University graduates holding senior engineering positions in construction, energy supply, oil and gas, and mechanical engineering."
Elena Prokofieva , Head of the Department for Work with Foreign Students; Elena Shipanova , Director of the Center for Continuing Education for Foreign Citizens; and teachers who taught the students various subjects.
"Graduation is a celebration that's both sad and joyful. It's sad because, over the course of their studies, all the students have become such close and dear to us, and we're very reluctant to part with them. But we're delighted that our students are beginning a new, important chapter in their lives—they'll be building successful professional careers. We hope that not only the knowledge they gained at Polytechnic University , but also the understanding we've shaped of Russia, its culture, and its people, will help them achieve this," Elena Prokofieva emphasized.
In turn, the foreigners thanked the university and their teachers by preparing creative performances and videos.
The geography of graduates is wide: Algeria, Peru, China, Morocco, Ethiopia, Côte d'Ivoire , Senegal, Turkmenistan, Ecuador, Cameroon, Egypt, Angola, Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Venezuela, Tunisia, Cambodia, Sierra Leone, Madagascar, France, Syria, Iraq, South Sudan, Ghana, Mozambique, Sudan, and Turkey. And for the first time this year, students from Bangladesh and Mali studied at Samara Polytech .
The event also recognized students who completed their undergraduate and graduate studies at Samara Polytech . This year, 22 international students graduated with honors. Among them was Sarahneh. Amir Ghassan Mohammed, from Palestine, is the university's Gold Fund laureate this year. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Design.
