The program of additional education was mastered by Russian and foreign participants
10 professors of mathematical and engineering departments of technical universities completed the advanced training program «Practice-oriented mathematical training of engineers» at Samara Polytech. Among them were both representatives of our university and guests from Russian universities. Foreign colleagues also joined the training - professors of the Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami (Uzbekistan). The program is implemented by the Institute of Additional Education of Samara Polytech together with the Department of Higher Mathematics.
«Recently, the problem of teaching mathematics in technical universities has become topical,» said Olga Yusupova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Head of the Higher Mathematics Department. – Therefore, in our advanced training program, we have focused on the applied aspects of mathematics, on its proximity to the professions of the future, as well as on digital technologies used in the educational process.
For four days, students attended lectures and master classes on the basic aspects of the mathematical education of engineers. The Polytechnic University specialists also shared their experience in implementing the practice-oriented program «Project and Educational Tracks» with colleagues from other cities.
– Another goal of this event was to establish personal professional contacts with colleagues from other universities in order to expand the geography of events held at the Polytechnic University. In the future, this will help attract applicants from other regions, including foreign ones, - Olga Yusupova emphasized. – So, a decision has already been made to hold the CAMMAT Mathematical Olympiad on the basis of the Tashkent State Pedagogical University. The possibility of opening a joint master's program aimed at training teachers of mathematics with a good theoretical and applied base is also being discussed.
In addition, a large cultural and entertainment program was organized for participants. Employees of the Department of Food Production Technology and Biotechnology conducted an excursion into the history of local brewing and winemaking, and Alexander Sidorov, director of the Geological and Mineralogical Museum of Samara Polytech, told about the unique exhibits of the university exposition. Then the guests of Samara visited the embankment.
