The British publication Times Higher Education released its 11th annual subject rankings, featuring universities worldwide. This year, 2,092 universities participated, including 81 from Russia. For the fourth consecutive year, Samara Polytech maintained a strong standing among institutions excelling in "Physical Sciences" and "Engineering."
In Physical Sciences, Polytech held its position among the top 56 Russian universities and ranked in the global 1001+ category for the third year in a row. In Engineering, the university continued its solid performance, ranking among the top 59 Russian institutions and in the global 1251+ category.
The subject rankings use the same evaluation criteria as the overall Times Higher Education (THE) rankings. The study is based on 18 performance indicators grouped into five categories: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry, and International Outlook. For each subject, these indicators are all considered, but their weight in the final score is adjusted according to the specific discipline.
Last fall, it was also announced that Samara Polytech achieved high positions in THE’s global university rankings, placing in the 1501+ category. Alongside Polytech, two other regional institutions—Samara University and Samara State Medical University—were included in the prestigious list, all sharing the same ranking.
