Polytech Confirms High Positions in Three Rankings

Global Studies on University Development Dynamics Conducted Annually

The ranking agency RUR released its latest Round University Ranking (RUR) for 2025, featuring 1,237 institutions from over 80 countries, including 121 Russian universities. Samara Polytech was included again, ranking 73rd nationally and 1016th globally.

RUR is the first global university ranking developed in Russia. It evaluates institutions based on 20 indicators grouped into four categories: teaching quality, research quality, internationalization, and financial sustainability. Alongside the overall ranking, separate rankings are published in these specific areas. Samara Polytech improved its standings in teaching, rising from 102nd to 90th, and in international diversity, moving from 117th to 113th. The university also made significant advances in individual categories:

Teaching Ranking:

- Faculty-to-student ratio: 590th (up from 616th in 2024)

- Faculty per bachelor’s degrees awarded: 737th (742nd in 2024)

Research Ranking:

- Normalized citation impact: 906th (923rd in 2024)

Financial Sustainability Ranking:

- Institutional income per student: 857th (864th in 2023)

In the 2025 National Aggregated Subject Ranking, Samara Polytech strengthened its position in the "Teaching Quality Assessment" category for “Technosphere Safety and Environmental Engineering” and “Materials Technology,” moving these programs to the premier and first leagues, respectively. The university maintained its place in the premier league for “Chemical Technology.” Samara Polytech is also represented across 11 areas in the first league, 8 in the second league, and 3 in the third league.

The National Aggregated Subject Ranking combines eight subject rankings, including professional-public accreditation results, teaching quality assessments, Hirsch index, RAEX, “First Mission,” global aggregated Russian university rankings, “National Recognition,” and SuperJob data.

In the RAEX-100 Ranking of Best Russian Universities, Polytech ranks 75th this year out of 212 participants. The ranking is based on statistical data and surveys of over 130,000 respondents, including academics, students, graduates, and employers.
