Samara Polytechnic Researchers Expand Collaboration with Chinese Colleagues

Samara’s scientific potential attracts strong interest from foreign partners

The 12th Russian–Chinese Engineering and Technology Forum, organized by the China Association for Science and Technology and the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations, concluded in Harbin. This year’s forum was devoted to “Intelligent Innovations for a New Future: Co-creating a New Engineering Ecosystem.” The meeting brought together more than 200 experts from research and engineering organizations, universities, research institutes and technology companies from both countries. Scientists from Samara Polytechnic also participated — Associate Professor of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry Elizaveta Morhova and Head of the Department of Theoretical and General Electrical Engineering Vladimir Kozlovsky.

“In total, the Russian delegation included 20 people. Three of them were representatives of the Samara region’s scientific community,” Kozlovsky noted. “Such attention to our region underscores the key significance of the results produced by Samara researchers and the Chinese side’s interest in collaborating with our scientific and educational centers. Each of us presented important reports in sessions formed around the most pressing scientific questions in chemistry, engineering and economics.”

Elizaveta Morhova spoke in the “Polar Equipment Technologies” session. She discussed the search for new solid-state materials for polar battery technologies being conducted by researchers at the Polytechnic’s International Research Center for Theoretical Materials Science.

“The forum was a vivid demonstration of growing scientific partnership between Russia and China. It is a great honor for me to represent Russian science at such a high level,” Morhova said. “My presentation focused on methods for searching promising conductive materials under specified conditions, namely at subzero temperatures.”

Vladimir Kozlovsky presented in the “Digital Economy” session on the topic “Concept of an Integrated Methodology for Digital Quality Management in Automotive Engineering.” He shared the main results from the research school “Ensuring Competitiveness, Quality and Efficiency of Automotive Products,” which aim to develop information-analytical and digital tools for quality management in modern automotive production.

“Our team proposed solutions for implementing comprehensive improvement programs for automakers, an intelligent assistance system for the FMEA procedure, a concept for an expert-analytical information environment for digital quality management in automotive manufacturing, and a concept for an active standardization model and a supporting information system model,” Kozlovsky explained. “We also improved methodologies for enhancing vehicle quality across lifecycle stages with respect to electromagnetic compatibility, and for managing an automaker’s competitiveness under mass industrial assembly conditions.”

The third representative of the Samara region was Professor Irina Naugolnaya from the Department of Economics, Organization and Enterprise Development Strategy of Samara State University of Economics. She presented in the “Economics of Small Heights” session.
